Food is something you need to survive but do you really find that you eat what you need? Probably not, especially in America. Well, I find eating and cooking are one of my main ways of relating to this issue of simple living. Cooking shouldn't be a complicated! It should be something you can do efficiently without sacrificing health or quality (one of my key words!). There are lots of guys and gals out there who do their cooking shows around quick and easy concepts, i.e. simple,... nothing is wrong with that. Some of them provide fabulous ideas and have really helped change the “Betty Crocker’s” of the world. We have finally been able to use fewer ingredients to make a healthy good tasting dish. We have gone from only using our fine china to using our everyday inexpensive dishes. Get the idea?
So, my question to you is what are you going to do to make this week's cooking, eating or serving more simple? Could you cut out some extra ingredients from a meal...meat is usually the first I start with. Could you make some short-cuts to allow for quicker prep time...this is where crock-pots/slow cookers are my favorite! Or could you set up an assembly line style of meal for the family to prepare their own dishes...taco bar's are one of our favorites! What's yours?
